The Fourkast Footbag Company is based out of the capital (and birthplace) of footbag, the great city Portland OR. Portland has a rich history in the sport, starting with the sport's creators, John (Mr. Hacky Sack) Stalberger and Mike Marshall. Over the years, as the sport took shape and evolved, many great players and icons have risen out of the area. This list includes;


  • Kenny Shults, (considered the greatest footbag player of all time)
  • Ted Huff (creator of the Footbag Hall of Fame and long time promoter)
  • Lori Jean Conover (Female footbag champion)
  • Garwin Bruce (early footbag promoter)
  • Tricia George (Many time women's World Champion)
  • Kendall KIC (creator of the Sole Purpose Footbag Group)



Portland currently heralds one of the largest and oldest footbag clubs in the world; the Sole Purpose Footbag Group. The group actively promotes the sport; whether by kicking downtown at footbag historic Pioneer Square, or working with area schools and non profits. The group also enjoys an association with the Boys and Girls Club of Portland. On top of this Portland has had the honor of annually hosting the US Open Footbag Championships, one of the largest and most prestigious footbag events in the world. Portland has also hosted the World Footbag Championships, an event that crowns the world champion of footbag. The local footbag group is a mix of top level freestylers (Nick Landes, Scott Bevier) and casual kickers who enjoy playing at a non technical level. Footbag has deep roots in the local Portland community, we have many generations of great players and individuals involved in the scene.
