Recommending Freestyle Music

It is often discussed what music is the best for footbag sessions. This is a rather hard question to answer since it has a lot to do with what music you like, what rhythm your game has and what kinda session you are having. I will in this short article come with a couple of suggestions of some music I like playing to do that can be downloaded legally and free on the internet.

Mishka presents Keep Watch Vol. X: Major Lazer!

Mishka is a NY based clothing company that puts out some really hot free mixes once in a while, this mix is by one of my favorite acts Major Lazer and is just perfect footbag music for me.

Major Lazer is a collaborative musical project from DJ/Producer Switch and Diplo. They call the music genre Science Fiction Dancehall and it consists of vocal collabs with Jamaican singers and rappers and Diplo and Switch bass heavy danceable beats.

The mix mainly consists of Major Lazer tracks but there are also a Ninjasonik accapella, a Bjork remix and even a track by Ace Of Base.

Mash-Up Your Bootz

A mash-up is a song or composition created by blending two or more songs, usually by overlaying the vocal track of one song seamlessly over the music track of another.

Mash-Up Your Bootz is a blog that very often put up for collections of mash-ups found for free on the internet. Here are something for every taste and some of them are really fun to play to. A warning should be that some of the tracks are very bad so you should probably download a couple of collections and choose your own favorites.

Ninjasonik

Ninjasonik is a NY based hip hop consisting of Jah-Jah, Teenwolf and Telli. Theymake underground danceable hiphop with strong concepts and fun simple lyrics. They are the makes of the hipster theme “Tight Pants” and cult songs such as “Internet Bitch” and “Somebody Gonna Get Pregnant”.
Their 3 mixes and their free album Darth Baño can all be downloaded from their website and are great footbag music.
